Local Moving
Moving across the street or the city? Western Moving takes pride in the quality of our local moving crews and we would be happy to provide you with a local moving quote. Local moves are normally based on an hourly rate which will vary depending on the size of your home and the number of crew required for your move.
Long Distance Moving
Western Moving will provide a Move Manager to monitor your long distance move and be available to answer any questions you may have before, during or after your move. Through our affiliation with United Van Lines, Western can look after your move anywhere in Canada, including remote areas.
The rates and delivery schedules for long distance moves (over 150 miles) are based on the estimated weight of your shipment and the distance your shipment will be travelling from origin to destination.
Container Service
When you move with Western Moving/United Van Lines you have the choice of shipping your household goods by van or container service.
This service is available on long distance moves over 700 miles and is available in most major centres across Canada.
Containers offer unique benefits:
- Exclusive use option available: your own personal, Sanitized® container with your contents separate from other shipments
- Less handling: perfect for short-term storage situations as we store your shipment in the container in which it was loaded. There is no extra unloading and loading and less risk of accidental damage to your contents.
- Storage: up to 30 days at no additional cost and up to 90 days at very reasonable rates
Packing Service
Our fully qualified packers will handle your contents with care and expertise, the best safeguard against breakage. Our crews can provide a full pack and unpack service utilizing specialized cartons and packing materials made specifically for packing household goods. It is recommended that items that require special care and attention such as stained glass windows, marble tabletops, and chandeliers be custom crated. Wooden crates are constructed by our crews to the exact specifications required to protect your delicate valuables.
Storage
Should your shipment require storage, Western Moving’s 30,000 ft. warehouse is completely secure, clean, climate controlled, sprinklered and monitored 24 hours a day. Through our Membership with United Van Lines, Western Moving can provide affordable storage services anywhere in the country.
